It’s been another busy week packed with updates from Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort. Let’s take a look at the top news stories that have come out of the parks in the past seven days.
Universal Orlando Indoor Mask Policy
For guests who are fully vaccinated, Universal Orlando Resort has now updated its mask policy once again. Fully vaccinated guests will be able to enter indoor attractions and venues without a mask, taking another step back towards normality in the parks.
Disney Park Capacity and Reservation System Updates
During the recent J.P. Morgan Global Technology, Media, and Communications Conference, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that park capacity will continue to increase throughout the summer. However, he also stated that the Disney park reservation system and virtual queues that are currently in use are here to stay in the parks. If you are planning a trip in the next few months, be sure to book your park passes to avoid any disappointment. Shows at Walt Disney World are now also starting to operate at a normal capacity, with attractions such as Mickey’s PhilharMagic and the Country Bear Jamboree removing all physical distancing measures.
Disney Skyliner Capacity
We absolutely love using the Skyliner to get around Walt Disney World. Due to social distancing measures, the Skyliner had recently only been allowing one party to ride in each gondola. This week, this has been increased, so multiple parties will now board each gondola for their journey between the parks and resorts. The gondolas do have openings in their design, so you can feel safe knowing the air is circulating throughout your journey.
Jungle Cruise Updates
We can’t wait to see the updates that are taking place on the Jungle Cruise attraction, and the good news is we don’t have much longer to wait. It’s been confirmed that the updates will be completed in the Magic Kingdom by this summer and in Disneyland Park in California, it will reopen on July 16th.
Disneyland Welcomes Out of State Guests
If you’ve been dying to head back over to the West Coast and visit Disneyland again, you’re in luck! From June 15th, the resort will now be welcoming out-of-state guests, and you can use the park reservation system to book your entry up to 120 days in advance.
