The past week has seen even more updates from the Orlando area theme parks, and Disney has finally followed Universal’s lead regarding masks in the parks.
Walt Disney World Mask Policy
Following on from the other week’s updates from Universal Orlando, Disney has now also dropped their mask requirement for indoor venues from June 15th, 2021. You’ll still need to keep your mask on while using transportation, but apart from that, you are free to roam around the park if you are fully vaccinated without a mask on.
The Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
We are just a month or so away from the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which starts this year on July 15th. This week, Walt Disney World announced there would be multiple new food booths in celebration of the resort’s 50th Anniversary. Keep your eyes peeled for The Swanky Saucy Swine, where you can enjoy pork dishes, Brew-Wing, which will serve chicken wings and flatbreads, and The Noodle Exchange. On top of that, Disney also released a sneak peek at this year’s merchandise, which will include Beauty and the Beast and Ratatouille-inspired offerings.
‘Ohana is Back
One of the most popular restaurants in Walt Disney World, ‘Ohana, is returning to service on July 9th. Reservations were available from June 10th, and you can be sure this beloved restaurant at the Polynesian will fill up quickly for the next few months.
Space 220 Restaurant
The long-awaited Space 220 restaurant in Epcot appears to finally be opening this fall. The restaurant will be operated by the Patina Group, who announced this week that you’ll be able to dine among the stars in a few months’ time.
More After Hours Boo Bash Dates
Boo Bash is Disney’s Halloween party for 2021, and tickets went so quickly when they went on sale this week. So much so that Disney has now added five more dates on Sunday evenings in September and October.
VelociCoaster at Universal Orlando Resort
This week, VelociCoasterat Universal Orlando Resort officially opened. This high-speed adventure is themed on the Jurassic World franchise and is bound to be one of the most popular attractions in the park for many years to come.
