It’s also home to some of the lesser-known like Fun Spot and Gatorland. Transportation is convenient with the airport less than 30 minutes away from most of the parks. Plenty of adventurous visitors are able to tackle more than one park in a single vacation. It’s a great destination for traveling with young kids. Tampa, FL
Tampa, FL, is another city known for its long-standing parks like Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, and the Lowry Park Zoo. The adrenaline-pumping rides make this a great choice for those with older children. Less than 30 minutes is St. Petersburg, a city with gorgeous beaches lining the coast. Winter Haven, FL
A more unconventional choice is in a central city named Winter Haven, FL. It’s infamous for Legoland, Bok Tower Gardens, and water skiing. Legoland has lots of rides, interactive shows, shopping, and a water park perfect for cooling off in the summertime. The Legoland Resort itself is an attraction. Each room is decorated to appear as if it’s built of Legos. This is a great choice for young ones or Lego lovers!
Fun fact: When planning the city and surrounding areas, the blueprints of Winter Haven and nearby city Lakeland accidentally got switched. Winter Haven has over 50 lakes within or bordering it!
