5 Destinations to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

One of the most romantic days of the year is quickly approaching!  While you may be tempted to order in and watch a movie, we recommend that you do something a little different this year.

If you are wondering what we have in mind, we are thinking that you can take a trip with your significant other to rekindle the romance and get a little alone time.  There are plenty of places that you can choose from, but we happen to have a few favorites.

5 Destinations to Celebrate Valentine’s Day

1. Bali

The island destination of Bali screams romance, yet you can have any type of adventure you want when you are there.  In between lounging on the sandy beaches, you can hike to volcanoes, do a little white-water rafting, and see the monkeys at the Ubud Monkey Forest.  Add in a hike of Mount Batur to watch the sunrise and you will have the perfect second honeymoon.

2. The Maldives

We recommend choosing an overwater villa for your accommodations when you take a trip to the Maldives, because you can take advantage of the water whenever you want.  The marine life is plentiful in the Maldives and the best way to see it all is while scuba diving and swimming.  However, you will want to spend quite a bit of time wandering around Maldives, so you can meet the locals and see the true beauty of this area.

3. Savannah, Georgia

Taking a stroll along the cobblestone streets in Savannah will have you reminiscing about your honeymoon and trying to find that exact romantic ambiance once again.  Nothing is more romantic than a riverboat cruise, although a walk along the shoreline on Tybee Island as the dolphins play out in the water comes pretty close.  If you plan on doing any shopping during your time in Savannah, the shops right alongside the river are your best option.  Of course, this is also where you can grab a quick bite to eat or a drink in between all the busyness!

4. Prague

Prague might be an older destination, but that doesn’t mean that you can discount the romance that is everywhere there.  You may not be able to add your lock of love to any of the bridges in this city, but you can cruise along the canal, see an opera performance, and wander through Petrin Park.  One of the more unusual romantic options while visiting Prague is having a picnic lunch within the gardens of the Vysehrad Cemetery.  Many infamous poets are buried there, and you can read some incredible poems to the love of your life from the tombstones.

5. Oahu, Hawaii

Any of the Hawaiian Islands would be perfect for a Valentine’s Day getaway, but we happen to love Oahu.  Your day can begin with a stroll along the beach or a few hours of horseback riding.  We recommend finding a secluded cove for a picnic dinner, so you can watch the sunset in the distance.

These are the five best destinations to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but they are not your only options.  We love planning these types of getaways, so let us know if you need any assistance in creating the best Valentine’s Day for your sweetheart!
